Windows SharePoint Services 3 Install Howto
This article describes how to install the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. You can download Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 with SP2 here. WSS works best with Internet Explorer 7. IE 7 is included in Windows Server 2008 and is available as a separate download for other operating systems.

1. Check I accept the terms of this agreement and lick Continue.
2. In Choose the Installation you want, click Advanced.
3. In Server Type, select Web Front End and click Install Now.
4. Installation will now begin.
5. Click Close.SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard
1. In SharePoint Products and Technologies Configuration Wizard, click Next.
2. Some services may have to be reset, click Yes to confirm.
3. Select No, I want to create a new server farm and click Next.
4. Fill in the Database Server field with the server name and instance of your SQL Server. For the database access account, create a new domain user account specifically for this purpose.
5. In Configure SharePoint Central Administration Web Application, click Next.
6. Review the summary information and click Next.
7. Configuration will now begin.
8. In Configuration Successful, click Finish.
9. Windows SharePoint Services has been successfully installed. Next, setup and configure Windows SharePoint Services.
