Installing IIS 7 on Windows Server 2008

This article describes how to install the Internet Information Services (IIS) 7 on Windows Server 2008.

Server Manager

Server Manager Shortcut1. Click Start and click Server Manager.
Server Manager2. In Server Manager, click Roles.
Add Roles3. In the Roles page, click Add Roles.

Add Roles Wizard

Server Roles1. In Add Roles Wizard, click Next.
Select Server Roles2. In Select Server Roles, check Web Server (IIS).
Add features required for Web Server (IIS)3. Click Add Required Features and click Next.
Web Server (IIS)4. In Web Server (IIS), click Next.
Select Roles Services
5. In Select Roles Services, check the items listed below.

Confirm Installation Selections6. In Confirm Installation Selections, click Install.
Installation Progress7. Installation will now begin.
Installation Results8. In Installation Results, click Close.
